With a new year, come new ideas. Metallic tones seem to be the main story for 2008. Lacquered and patina/rusted looks for lighting and cabinet hardware, and low luster, trellis patterns for floor covering are coming on strong. Spring 2008 will bring in Country French blue –deep and rich. Yellow and white will be secondary. Gray will be the neutral. Going “Green” will also be big in 2008. We don’t mean the color. We’re talking about the concept of being nature friendly. We offer many “Green” lines that contain post-consumer products. We also have changed our showroom lighting to low-watt fluorescents as another way of helping out. Many people have a get-away home, or an additional room, and Lodge Look Chic Décor has become big business. Rustic hewn, out-doors, and comfortable are the key words for this look. The new phrase for ’08 will be, “free yourself from the ordinary”.
It's been said, "Too many cooks, spoil the stew." The same goes for home products retailers. On line selling has its places, but flooring, lights, and counter tops aren't among them. I can't imagine buying something simply by looking at a picture on the web. Sure, the e-retailer may send a swatch out, but is that swatch from the current production run? Can you be sure of what you're getting? Can you really tell what that finish is on the chandelier in the photo?
