TILE AND COUNTERTOPS

Tile

Either ceramic or stone, tile is a very smart choice for any space. With so many choices in sizes, colors, and options, we can help you design and install a look that will awe you.

From clay to porcelain, from granite to travertine, we have it all. We can cover floors, walls, countertops, and showers. We can guarantee a leak-proof shower and make it beautiful. It's not just a plastic cover up like re-bath companies do. We build it to last and look great.

 Tops   Tops   Tops   Tile

Here are few design and shopping tips:

  1. Our ceramic tile can either be clay bodied, or porcelain bodied. Ask our sales professionals which one is best for your application.
  2. Our ceramic tile is easy to maintain. Regular sweeping, or vacuuming followed by a damp mop will make your tile look spectacular.
  3. Don’t worry about what people say about grout staining. A little grout sealer will make a world of difference, and you only have to use it every so often.
  4. We also offer a super great grout that never needs sealing.
  5. Ceramic tile is extremely scratch resistant, stain resistant, and temperature tolerant.
  6. Natural stone tile such as travertine, marble, and granite are wonderful upgrades to any home.
  7. Natural stone is beautiful, but care must be given to ensure the stone is kept sealed to avoid staining by household agents.
  8. Marble is great for lightly used areas, but don't put it on countertops.
  9. We are an Emser display dealer. This gives us access to warehouses full of any tile you can think of.

Quartz Countertops

You can't beat a quartz countertop. It's durable, low maintenance, and never needs sealing compared to granite. You can get a variety of colors and edge profile options.

Here are few design and shopping tips:

  1. Our quartz countertops are the best counter options out there today.
  2. Our tops are anti-microbrial, scratch resistant, and durable.
  3. Make sure to get quartz tops. No other top is as durable as quartz.
  4. We can provide you with 2 cm and 3 cm thickness options.
  5. Our tops provide stone looks and solid color looks.

Vital Stats

The US economy is predicted to grow at a higher rate than initially projected in both 2010 and 2011, according to the National Association for Business Economics.

Home Sales Up in Crawford and Sebastian Counties

Home sales in Crawford and Sebastian counties during May were up despite concerns of a falloff resulting from expiration of federal tax credits for certain homebuyers.

Crawford County saw 63 new and existing homes sold in May, up 7% compared to May 2009, while Sebastian County saw a 29% increase with 143 homes sold in May. The figures are from the King Realty Group’s May report prepared by Realtor Ernie Schimmelman.

Pasted from The City Wire.

Arizona and British Petroleum

I can't seem to wrap my head around the idea of thousands of people marching in the streets to protest an illegal immigrant law enacted by Arizona when thousands upon thousands of gallons of crude oil are spilling in the Gulf of Mexico, destroying the aqua-eco system and putting a stop to people's livelihoods. Why is no one protesting this?

Shaw, Mohawk, and Beaulieu Carpet Price Increase

Shaw, Mohawk, and Beaulieu announced a carpet price increase of 5 to 7 percent this month. This will affect all orders shipped from these manufacturers after May 24th.

On a brighter note, housing construction in March rose to its highest level in 16 months, spurred by multi-family construction. Retail sales also rose for the third straight month, helped in part by the increase in sales of building materials. It's amazing how all things work in tandem. More construction means a better economy.

Armstrong Price Increase

We've just been informed of a price increase announcement by Armstrong World Floors. This will be a six to eight percent increase effective with shipments made on or after June 1, 2010.

Orders accepted prior to June 1 will be protected at the current price level for 30 days beyond the effective date.

EPA vs. FDA Water

I just learned that tap water is regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and that bottled water is considered a food product, so it's monitored by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Even though both are "water", they're controlled by two different government organizations. Both agencys have seperate rules for reporting contamination and what's considered contamination. FYI, the FDA's rules on what's considered contamination are more flexible than the EPA's rules...

Color of the Year: Turquoise

At Home Arkansas reports that Pantone, the world's authority on color, has chosen turquoise as the color of the year in 2010. For homes, Pantone suggests painting it with neautrals to add excitement, with red and pink as complement, or with dark blue for a classic maritime look. They also suggest to bodly mix it with yellow and green for a trendsetting decor.

Southwest Airlines

Been doing some reading on Southwest Airlines and what makes them tick. After pouring over research, I've summarized that the four main points to their success are:

  1. Keep it quick and easy.
  2. Keep it simple with minimal frills.
  3. Exploit smaller, overlooked markets.
  4. Keep it to one business category.

These points in their business model push them toward one goal, that lower costs equates to more customers.

We are currently shifting our business model using the above points. Look for new things to come.
