As November 4th nears, we are on the brink of selecting a new set of leaders for our country. This is not only for the presidency, but for the cabinet members, for the retiring Supreme Court judges, and for a slew of other positions that will change with a new president. The direction of our great nation for the next four to eight years depends on this election. Neither candidate really excites me. Among our large population, these two are the best we can nominate?
Look at your appliances. Are they Energy Star approved? These appliances will reduce your energy costs and reduce emissions. Energy is a resource we have to use in moderation. Saving as much as we can will help our children. The use of bamboo floors are also a great way to help save the environment. Bamboo is a very renewable source of flooring, and you just may be able to get a tax credit for its use. Come by and we’ll fill you in.
We would like to welcome aboard Bill Lamb as a new sales associate. Bill is originally from Paris, AR, has a lovely family (with one on the way), and looks forward to assisting you with any interior finish needs you have. Come by and see him and welcome him to the Fort Smith area. We also welcome Karen Mills as our new office administrator. Karen lives in Poteau and adds depth to our team with her background in office procedures.
Use patterns on the floor to define a space. Tiles are great for this. Today’s tiles are available in many sizes and are perfect for creating some “pop” in a space. Larger rooms will require larger patterns to be symmetrical in nature. Small rooms won’t need as much. You may loose the concept by using a large pattern in a small room. Think of looking through a telescope at something close up. You can’t see the “full picture” that close.
We are the experts when it comes to tile shower installations. We take great steps to ensure your shower lasts a long time. We waterproof our showers through a multi-step process to prevent leaks. Most stores only apply tile directly on the surface and call it good. This is an accident waiting to happen. Water will get into your walls and cause mold and damage. Contact us for a water-tight shower.

Crawford County saw 63 new and existing homes sold in May, up 7% compared to May 2009, while Sebastian County saw a 29% increase with 143 homes sold in May. The figures are from the King Realty Group’s May report prepared by Realtor Ernie Schimmelman.

I can't seem to wrap my head around the idea of thousands of people marching in the streets to protest an illegal immigrant law enacted by Arizona when thousands upon thousands of gallons of crude oil are spilling in the Gulf of Mexico, destroying the aqua-eco system and putting a stop to people's livelihoods. Why is no one protesting this?
Shaw, Mohawk, and Beaulieu announced a carpet price increase of 5 to 7 percent this month. This will affect all orders shipped from these manufacturers after May 24th.
On a brighter note, housing construction in March rose to its highest level in 16 months, spurred by multi-family construction. Retail sales also rose for the third straight month, helped in part by the increase in sales of building materials. It's amazing how all things work in tandem. More construction means a better economy.

At Home Arkansas reports that Pantone, the world's authority on color, has chosen turquoise as the color of the year in 2010. For homes, Pantone suggests painting it with neautrals to add excitement, with red and pink as complement, or with dark blue for a classic maritime look. They also suggest to bodly mix it with yellow and green for a trendsetting decor.
During this month, we'll have:
We're already taking pre-orders, so these deals wont last long.
Been doing some reading on Southwest Airlines and what makes them tick. After pouring over research, I've summarized that the four main points to their success are:
These points in their business model push them toward one goal, that lower costs equates to more customers.
We are currently shifting our business model using the above points. Look for new things to come.
